Local resident Tina has launched a new cat-sitting service All My Cats Care! She tells us more:
“After moving to Balham a few months ago to be closer to my work in dog grooming, I realised how much I was missing having cats in my life. Looking after a friend’s cat in Wimbledon inspired me to start my own cat-sitting service.
“I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life, from dogs and cats to chickens and goats, so caring for them has always come naturally. One of the most special experiences for me was rescuing an abandoned kitten I found near a restaurant. He lived a happy life for 13 years, and in his memory, I ran the London 10K in July 2024 to raise funds for Cats Protection.
“I offer cat sitting for local owners, including one or two visits a day or overnight stays. I can feed, refresh water, clean litter trays, administer medication, and spend quality time playing or cuddling—depending on each cat’s personality.
"I also keep owners updated with regular photos and videos, so they always feel connected while they’re away.”
For more info, email tina@allmycats.co.uk, call or text +44(0)7464122835, or visit her website.
A new kids’ fitness concept Atlas Kids Gym has launched - Balham’s official HYROX training club for children aged 5–11. The team tells us more:
“We’re proud to bring something completely unique to the area, a high-energy training club designed just for kids. Our sessions combine fun, fitness, and functional training in a safe and supportive environment.”
“Whether it’s through our term-time classes or action-packed holiday camps, children stay active, build confidence, and develop real-life fitness skills — all while being part of a team.”
“At AKG, it’s about more than just exercise. It’s about creating an inclusive space where every child feels welcome, friendships are built, and everyone feels part of something.”
You can now book term-time classes and upcoming camps via their website here.
Classes will take place at Endlesham Hall on 48 Endlesham Road.
A new exercise class, Megga Ball, has launched at La Retraite School. Founder and personal trainer Winston tells us more:
"Meggaball is where Pilates meets dance cardio on a Swiss ball, set to Dancehall and Caribbean beats.
"I created the Meggaball Method to use the instability of the Swiss ball to deliver a low-impact yet high-intensity workout. The result is a dynamic, full-body session that strengthens the core, enhances balance, and improves overall tone and conditioning — all while staying accessible and adaptable for different fitness levels.
"Meggaball HIIT is a high-energy, full-body workout designed to challenge and shape your body. I turn up the intensity with this dynamic session using the Swiss ball, medicine ball, and resistance bands. Fast-paced, effective, and seriously motivating — this group exercise is your chance to push your limits and be your best."
Classes start on Tuesday, 14th April. Meggaball 7pm – 7:45pm pm, Meggaball HIIT 8pm – 8:45 pm, £16 per class.
