The Clapham Book Festival 2026 takes place on Saturday 17th October, celebrating ten years of author talks, panel discussions at the Omnibus Theatre, plus the ever-popular Clapham Literary Walk.
Clapham’s quirky and distinctive book festival has been celebrating great writing since 2016. The 2026 Festival promises a special anniversary programme featuring award-winning authors, bestselling crime writers, distinguished historians and journalists.
Paula Johnson (Honorary Fellow Royal Society of Literature) has curated the programme:
“To celebrate ten wonderful years of the Festival, we have a fantastic line-up of authors and speakers.
“Multi-award-winning crime writers Abir Mukherjee and Vaseem Khan discuss their latest twisty thrillers, The Pinnacle and The Man with the Golden Compass.
“Prize-winning biographer and historian Anne Sebba discusses her latest book, The Women’s Orchestra of Auschwitz – a shocking and powerful tour de force.
“Gordon Corera, former BBC defence correspondent and co-presenter of The Rest is Classified, talks to former Newsnight presenter Adam Raphael about his career and his latest book, The Spy in the Archive.
“For those who want to discover Clapham’s literary history, the ever-popular Clapham Literary Walk takes place twice this year – on Festival Day and Saturday 10th October.
“And to mark our tenth anniversary, we are launching the inaugural Penelope McNeile Writing Competition in memory of one of our founders. Details can be found on our website.”
The Omnibus Theatre is located at 1 Clapham Common North Side.
