The whole Tube network is on track for mobile coverage by the end of the year as further sections go live.
There is already continuous coverage on the Northern Line between Kennington and Oval, and Stockwell to South Wimbledon, as well as from Highgate and Hampstead stations to Embankment station on the Charing Cross branch. On the Bank Branch, coverage is available between Kings Cross St Pancras and Bank.
In recent weeks, coverage has been introduced in the tunnelled sections on the Bakerloo line between Queen’s Park and Edgware Road, plus on the Metropolitan line between Euston Square and King’s Cross St Pancras as well as between Barbican and Moorgate.
The Circle and District lines have also gained coverage between Cannon Street and Monument, Sloane Square and Victoria, and Bayswater and Paddington.
The expanding coverage will also host the new Emergency Services Network (ESN) - which, when fully operational, will be able to give first responders immediate access to life-saving data, images and information in live situations and emergencies on the frontline.
As well as tunnelled sections, busy stations including Vauxhall, Temple, Nine Elms and Gloucester Road have all now gone live. Mobile coverage has also begun to be introduced at major stations like King's Cross St Pancras, Victoria and Paddington, which will go live in phases due to their size and complexity, focusing initially on ticket halls and platforms.
Tooting Bec resident Alex has once again taken on the challenge of finding a beer for every country in the World Cup, that he'll drink when the country gets eliminated – leaving the winners' beer to round everything off!
With the tournament expanded to 48 teams for the first time, this has been a real undertaking ahead of the tournament kicking off. Seen outside Tooting Bec Tube Station with his England and Croatia beers to symbolise England's first game, Alex is World Cup ready!
He tells us, "This is definitely my toughest tournament challenge to date – it makes the 16 team Women's Euros in 2025, the 24 team Men's Euros in 2024 and the 32 team Men's World Cup in 2022 look easy!
"The number of favours I've had to call in for this World Cup though is incredible – from my Aunt & Uncle bringing me beers over from Sydney, to a friend's mum on holiday in Curacao, to me paying for a mate's check-in luggage to bring me back a Paraguayan beer.
"Let's hope it's more a repeat of Women's Euro 2025 when I got to drink my England beer last, than the last two Men's Euros when we lost in the final!"
Alex will be documenting his World Cup journey at @alex_stevens_beer alongside polls for every single game that you can get involved with.

Balham POP-UP! Goldthread Domas, a vintage lifestyle brand based in SW London, curated by like-minded friends with a passion for sustainability and all things VINTAGE is coming to Balham! Co-founder Tasmin tells us more:
"With more than a decade of experience in the fashion industry, we became increasingly disillusioned with the cycle of fast fashion, its impact on both people and the planet. We created Goldthread Domas to offer a more conscious alternative, carefully curating timeless vintage pieces that celebrate quality, craftsmanship and personal style.
"Our collection extends beyond clothing. We also handpick a selection of vintage mid-century homeware and carefully selected vinyl records. We bring together the very best of design, culture and craftsmanship from decades gone by.
"At Goldthread's we are more than a brand. We are a community! Connecting people through fashion, music and art. Throughout the season, expect a programme of intimate gatherings, creative collaboration and community-led events designed to connect all people."
Goldthread Domas will be open every Wednesday - Friday from 12pm - 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 6pm until August.
They are located at 11 Fernlea Road, SW12 9RT

Good luck to local resident George Sadler who will be attempting to play darts for 24 hours straight in memory of his friend who passed away in 2024 at the age of 28 from a brain tumour, with funds raised donated to @thebraintumourcharity. George tells us more:
“My mate Jack and I are doing this in memory of our friend George, who passed away at just 28 years old following a brain tumour diagnosis, after almost three years of intensive NHS care and private experimental treatment. We miss him.
“Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40 in the UK. A cure came too late for George. But by raising awareness and funds, we hope to help drive better treatments, better support, and ultimately better outcomes for those affected by brain tumours.
“Backed by a highly qualified support team and various medical experts, my mate Jack and I are currently in the middle of a brutal training regime to prepare for the marathon. This includes forensic analysis of the Premier League Darts, frequent visits to the pub, and acquiring a family pack of Monster.
“We’ll be live-streaming the event throughout the day and night, featuring special guests, forfeits, and World Cup watch-alongs.”
